Amergis Staffing is seeking experienced Respiratory Therapists (CRT/RRT) for a 13-week assignment at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA. This is a night-shift, 3x12 schedule (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with an ASAP start date upon clearance. Clinicians will support respiratory care services throughout multiple patient care areas, including correctional, ventilator, and medical-surgical units.
Position Overview
The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care services across various hospital units within a public health and teaching hospital setting. This assignment requires flexibility, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to work independently while managing patients with diverse respiratory needs. Therapists will float between units as needed and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday staffed with four Respiratory Therapists
- Three Respiratory Therapists scheduled on remaining days
- No block scheduling available
- Rotating schedule required with varied days each week
- Every other weekend and holiday required

Requirements
Required Certifications & Licensure
- CRT or RRT credential
- Current Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist License
- BLS certification by start date
Preferred Experience
- Sleep Studies experience
- Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience
- Correctional healthcare experience
Scheduling Requirements
- Must be flexible to work rotating days each week
- No set weekly schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- 48-hour schedules not available
Compliance Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine declination accepted
- No drug screen required
- Physical completed within one year
- Hepatitis B declination accepted
- Tdap required
- Flu vaccine preferred during flu season, but not required
- TB screening (T-Spot or QuantiFERON Gold) within three months of start date

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory and pulmonary therapy, management, and rehabilitation under the direction of a doctor. The Respiratory Therapist treats conditions that affect the pulmonary system and help patients who are having trouble breathing from infants to the elderly in a variety of health care settings.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Respiratory Therapist Certification or Registration for the state in which he/she practices
- One year of respiratory therapy clinical experience preferred
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
