Substance Abuse Technician (Residential Medication Support)

 | Escondido, CA

Program Overview

Residential substance use treatment facility serving women in recovery through trauma-informed, evidence-based care. The program provides integrated substance use and mental health services in a structured, supportive residential environment.

Role Overview

The Medical Technician I supports medication self-administration, withdrawal management, and client safety in a residential SUD setting. This is a non-clinical role working under RN and medical oversight, focused on monitoring, documentation, and crisis support.

Schedules Available

  • 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
    • Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday
  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
    • Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday

Key Duties

  • Monitor and document medication self-administration
  • Support clients during withdrawal management/detox
  • Conduct safety and behavioral rounds
  • Provide crisis intervention and client stabilization
  • Assist with intake, discharge, and daily supervision
  • Collect and document urinalysis results
  • Maintain accurate medical and facility documentation
  • Coordinate with nursing, medical, and clinical teams

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • SUD Counselor registration (CCAPP, CAADE, or CADTP) Required
  • CPR/First Aid (or ability to obtain)
  • Residential SUD or behavioral health experience preferred
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Bilingual preferred

Important Note

  • Not a Medical Assistant or lab-based “Med Tech” role
  • Residential medication support with onsite training and medical oversight
