At Amergis Healthcare Staffing, our team members are at the heart of everything we do. Each month, our Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) board highlights the story of an Amergis employee who demonstrates our core values for healthcare professionals and their patients.

For June’s Spotlight, we want to introduce you to Aaron Bierlink, an Amergis Staffing Director of Business Operations in Seattle, Washington. In honor of Father’s Day, Aaron wrote a letter explaining the special feeling he gets from being a Father and how working at Amergis has helped with his fatherhood journey.

What Fatherhood Means to Aaron

“Becoming a dad to Lincoln, Kala, and Noelle changed my life in 2013, 2015, and then again in 2021. Prior to Sarah and I having our children, our life was our own. We could choose how to spend our time, energy, and resources. For any father figures out there, you know that freedom gets replaced by unconditional love for those children we are called to serve and protect. It’s a truly selfless calling that should resonate with those at [Amergis] who aspire to be Servant Leaders. Being a parent is hard, putting others before yourself is hard. With patience and hard work though comes great reward. My kids, now 9, 7, and almost 2 are ALWAYS the best part of my day. They still run to give me a hug, yelling ‘Daddy!” when I get home from the office every day (this lasts through the teenage years right?). I can’t imagine anything that I would trade that feeling of pride for. That ‘feedback’ from my kids that I am doing this job right. That recognition that they value the hard work that I am putting in to create bright futures for them. The sense of pride that I get from sacrificing my personal interests for those that I love is an incredible feeling.

There are so many parallels I see working at [Amergis], working to be a better leader, a person, and a Father.  While the benefits are great, none of them come without fighting through hard times, moments of weakness, and failures. When there are kids looking up to you and depending on you. Failures can take a toll. The most important thing that I’ve learned as a dad for almost 10 years and working for [Amergis] over the last 16 is that not giving up on what you want and whom you envision yourself to be is the most important thing. In the future, I envision a home full of children and grandchildren who aren’t perfect, and aren’t the same, but have endured life together and choose to share time with family in the most special moments. I’m not going to stop working at that goal regardless of the hurdles along the way. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a father and work for [Amergis]. Both come with ups and down and continually humble me but both have been incredibly rewarding.  Happy Father’s Day to everyone who is a Father figure to someone depending on you. Thank you for your selflessness and enjoy time with them this Father’s Day!”

Please join Amergis Staffing in celebrating Aaron and all the other amazing fathers this Father’s Day!
