The Youth Care Worker (YCW) is responsible for the oversight and safety of children or adolescents in a variety of secure setting care settings. The Youth Care Worker will interact with the youth in a positive manner while assisting them with daily activities and implementing treatment plans.
The Youth Care Worker will display a professional and caring attitude and will encourage positive behaviors through effective communication, decision-making, and problem-solving. The Youth Care Worker will respond to emergencies and assist in the redirection of youth when needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in social sciences, counseling, behavioral sciences, human services, criminal justice, education, or child development preferred
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the care, custody, or personal guidance of youth
- Bilingual or multilingual may be preferred in some settings
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
