Mental Health Technician (Per Diem) | North Bay Facilities Start Date: ASAP | Per Diem / On-Call

We’re seeking experienced Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to join our per-diem pool supporting multiple behavioral health and psychiatric facilities throughout the North Bay. This role is ideal for professionals in the mental health field who want flexible scheduling, supplemental income, or the ability to pick up shifts as needed.

Position Highlights

• Location: North Bay Area (Sebastopol, Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Napa, and surrounding regions)

• Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Units

• Start Window: ASAP

• Contract Type: Per Diem – scheduled shifts or on-call availability

• Schedule Options: AM, PM, or NOC shifts available

• Facilities: We partner with multiple residential homes, clinics, and behavioral health programs across the region

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a Mental Health Tech, Behavioral Health Associate, Psychiatric Technician, or similar role

• BLS certification

• Experience working with acute psychiatric populations preferred

• Strong crisis-intervention and therapeutic communication skills

• Ability to work independently and adapt to different facility environments

Additional Compliance Requirements

• TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

• Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Successful completion of site-specific orientation

• Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

• Computer proficiency and ability to document accurately

What You’ll Do

• Provide direct support to patients in psychiatric and behavioral health settings

• Assist with ADLs, safety monitoring, and milieu management

• Support nursing and clinical teams with crisis intervention and de-escalation

• Document observations and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient stabilization and recovery
