Public Health Dietitian – WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program Coordinator
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours/Week: 40

Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Public Health Dietitian to coordinate and supervise the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program within the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. This role plays a vital part in supporting maternal and child health through evidence-based nutrition services and breastfeeding support.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program, including recruitment, training, and supervision of peer counselors.
• Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, counseling, and follow-up for high-risk prenatal and postpartum women, infants, and children enrolled in WIC.
• Develop and implement program policies, procedures, and goals in accordance with state and federal WIC guidelines.
• Provide staff training and continuing education to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and community organizations to promote breastfeeding and nutrition education.
• Monitor program performance, prepare reports, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN)
• Experience in maternal and child health, WIC programs, or public health nutrition.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
