Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Location: Richmond, CA (Bay Area)
Job Type: Contract 13 weeks with extensions: (Full-Time/Part-Time/Per Diem)
Department: Skilled Nursing Facility
Reports To: Licensed Physical Therapist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and manage pain through prescribed therapeutic exercises and treatments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Guide patients through exercises and therapeutic activities.
- Monitor and document patient progress and responses to treatment.
- Educate patients and families on techniques for continued care at home.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
- Ensure a safe and clean treatment environment.
- Collaborate with the rehab team to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current state licensure or certification as a PTA.
- CPR certification (preferred).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
