Emergency RoomRegistered Nurse (RN)
The Emergency Room RN is a highly skilled and compassionatenursing professional responsible for delivering rapid, comprehensive care topatients experiencing urgent and life-threatening conditions. This role demandsstrong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in afast-paced, high-pressure environment. The ER RN collaborates with physicians,interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure safe, effective, andpatient-centered care.
Essential Duties andResponsibilities
· Apply the nursing process to assess, plan,implement, and evaluate care for patients with emergent medical needs
· Perform rapid and thorough patient assessments,including triage, vital signs, and health histories
· Administer medications, treatments, and IVtherapies as prescribed
· Monitor and document patient responses tointerventions and changes in condition
· Collaborate with healthcare providers to developand adjust individualized care plans
· Prepare patients for diagnostic tests,procedures, and emergency interventions
· Provide care for trauma, cardiac, respiratory,and other critical conditions
· Educate patients and families on treatmentplans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation inthe electronic health record (EHR)
· Adhere to infection control, safety, and qualitystandards
· Respond promptly to emergencies such as cardiacarrest, respiratory failure, or rapid deterioration
· Support patient advocacy and uphold patientrights and confidentiality
Minimum Requirements
· Current Registered Nurse License in the state ofpractice
· Minimum one year of professional nursingexperience; ER experience preferred
· Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (ifapplicable)
· Current BLS certification (ACLS required; PALSpreferred)
· TB screening and health clearance (as requiredby contract or regulation)
· Compliance with all federal, state, and localregulations
· Successful completion of new hire orientationand ER training
· Understanding of patient confidentiality andHIPAA regulations
· Strong communication skills and proficiency inEnglish
· Basic computer literacy
· Must be at least 18 years of age
